December 19, 2005

You know that there is something about having a really busy weekend that leaves you drained for the following week.

We had our work Christmas party which was ok I guess fun, but oh well. There was a gift exchange that was kinda fun. At first I had the rubber chicken then I traded and got the Chia Pet Scooby which my girls thought was the coolest thing since sliced bread.

After the work party which started at like quarter to 4:00, I went home and Mike and I went to the Lynnard concert at the Everett Event Center. Now you have to be in the right state of mind to attend one of these concerts. The audience consisted of left over hippies, rockers, hippies with little or no teeth and the like, strange old people and boring people like Mike and I. Makes me wish we didn't cut our hair off. Sheesh. The music was pretty good. The band played some new stuff from their current album.

Strange thing was that one of the two opening bands was this local bunch called Spike and the Impalers. Spike is the DJ on a local radio station called KZOK 102.5 FM. The band actually was pretty good. Spike was wearing a utila kilt. Hard to describe except looks like a kilt but for the modern guy.

Danced my ass off at the concert,Mike danced somewhat, the guy in front of us dropped his flask but by time I get his attention the dude behind us grabbed the flask???WTF?? Grabbing some strangers flask. Go figure. The other strange part was that the Everett Event Center stopped serving beer early. So essentially creating the atmosphere of drink your ass of first and then run in and watch the concert,,praying that you don't puke on self or neighbor. Weird..I miss festival seating. Maybe I am dating myself.

Sigh

No wine guy at Alberstons' tonight. I think he must have found another lady..C will understand this one.

To my friend Dawn...how come you aren't posting on here???!!! HA!
Love you!

My girls are so excited for Christmas. I guess I am excited..hard to get happy over the exchange of goods, guess I can live through the kids but I wish to give gifts like love, patience, understanding, relief from anxiety, kindness, no anger, time...these are gifts nobody can buy and you can't create unless you wish tooo!
